Teens Writing for Teens, issue 6

Hey again!

NaNo is soon, and I'm doing a major rewrite of my novel for it. So. Gotta count for something, right? This is probably my 7th revision of the novel, but I think it's actually getting close (finally). The saying "writing is rewriting" is so true.

(I'm also going to casually link to the newest teen writer contest I'm doing. It's open to anyone 13-20, and you can win critiques from names like Ginger Cl@rk, Jodi M3adows, Victoria Schw@b, and seven more industry pros... I mean, I'm just kind of jealous that *I* can't enter my own contest.

Oh geez re-writes.... I know that pain. I'm on my... uh... (counts fingers) I think eight-ish one. This time completely changing the whole plot around. Hell its more of a new book now just with the same characters. Good luck with it!

Hiiiiiii omg I'm on a train for the first time in years and I haven't eaten today and I'm starving. (I also didn't eat much yesterday...) And it's a 5 hour train. GAH I'm hoping they have snacks soon or at all. Do trains have snacks? I haven't been on one in years...

Oh and I'm writing an extra MAAH chapter! It might turn into two! At the moment Emil is screaming and beating up a desk. Going well so far!

Ahh seriously this book is actually so much better than it originally was. Intervention bye-bye-Corwin!POV was literally the best thing for this book ever.

On the other hand, I haven't written a word and I'm so much less stressed out because of that so maybe I shouldn't be here...

MAAH is going well, though I haven't written anything today. Eeek! I will write more tomorrow!

Life is good, school is stressful. Ahh, well.

omg so this morning I sent out my first batch of queries in two months
and I got a response like 5 hours later asking for the partial and the synopsis
I just want to cry because that's my first positive response (the other one was in a pitch contest) and it was pretty fast!

Hmm... it's been months, hasn't it?

And I'm at boarding school, but I left home early for camp and travel and such, because it's too hot to live here in the summer.

Yeah, it has - in like 5 days i'm pretty sure it will be 3 months but the thing is, she doesn't seem to be as established as other agents/the agency that just requested a partial

and that is so exciting! I lived in italy last year for 4 months and it was wonderful but I definitely missed home!
