The prairie is not monotonous if you're a) running with thunderstorms, b) running with 18-wheelers, or c) being chased by Indians (or zombies).

Trapped on the prairie with zombies in all directions would be a bad thing (one reason I've always questioned the trip to Las Vegas or the base in the middle of the desert in Resident Evil: Extinction).

Sorry. It's the weird way my mind works.

Honestly, it's not my fault.

I seem to be twisted in some fundamental way psychologically that I always start thinking about "What's the worst that could happen?" Iget the laughs sometimes at my own thoughts and scenarios. Honestly, I giggled near-hysterically during "Blood On The Highway" in school. I loved the scene where the car goes under the 18-wheeler and later they're lifting the passenger's body off the pavement and there's not much left above the shoulders.

The instructor had to throw me out of his class.

One of these days I might even make a decent horror writer.

:)

See, I'm sitting at the bar right now looking out the window and you know what I'm thinking? I'm thinking about what would happen if extra-dimensional aliens suddenly opened a portal into our universe and blew up the gas station across the street then started spreading out to butcher everyone they could before their portal collapses.

The planet's at war, and we don't even know where the enemy comes from or how to strike back or defend ourselves from them.

What happens to freedom, to our societies and cultures under such a situation?

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forums and wanted to introduce myself: Michael from San Jose; polishing the query letter and synopsis for my first novel, Blood Vengeance.

Much better, Bos. :) Thank you!

Hey Soapy! Your table arrangement is lovely.

I need to go to Walmart tonight, still. We're getting 5-6 inches of snow tomorrow and I'm out of food and cleaning supplies. Why can't toilet paper just be one of those things that never runs out?

At one point in the Middle Ages... or some such... they used silk sheets in the castle. (Yes, they did that back then.)

Technically those would not run out, though they would need to be laundered.

Aah, we just got word they're building a Costco here. Do you need a membership for it like you do Sam's Club?

Eww... when it comes to hygiene habits I'm sooooo happy to live in the 2000's!

Honestly, Abs, many historical eras take an undeserved bad rap when it comes to hygiene. They weren't always up to our standards, but there were many places and times when they were quite conscientious about it.

The Roman Bathhouse was a common structure, after all.
