Hounding After Hours

I think I'm gonna' hurl. I've been perusing the books at Smashwords lately and I realized today that every single werewolf book or story (except for my story Hunted) there is either a) erotica, or b) gay erotica.

WTF is it with werewolves and erotica, especially gay erotica?

The whole damn horror genre's been turned on its head by "adult Twilight" style stories with erotic overtones to everything that used to be ours.

Ok Hounds, before I give up the next two hours of my evening:

Let Me In, the Swedish child vampire flick. Is it any good, and should I be watching it?

Also, it may well be that, especially with the gay erotica, it's too difficult to find traditional publishing, as it has been my impression that for that particular genre, the whole e-pub thing has been a bit of a godsend. Like pulp novels were for crime fiction and sci-fi.

Only without the literal pulp.

Of the Swedish version, or the American remake? Because I had heard the American remake was not quite as good.

I shall probably watch regardless.

And it turns out to be irrelevant, as I do not get that channel after all.

Yeah, I watched Let Me In via NetFlix a month or two ago. Okay, but nothing to rave about. As vampire flicks go it wasn't up to House Of Dark Shadows standards IMO.

I'm in the process of reading the book. Interesting characters. Haven't seen the movie yet.

Watched an interesting movie on Netflix last night - The Perfect Host.

Enjoyed it very much.

No vampires in it though.

Netflix has an old series from the 60s I believe with a similar name - Dark Shadows, also about a vampire set in Maine.

I like it - no twinkly vampires, no rivers of gore.

There's a little "my isn't he dashing!" but that's always been said of a true Dracula type, hasn't it?

ETA: Googled it just now, it's described as "an American Gothic soap opera."

I used to watch reruns of Dark Shadows ALL the time when I'd stay home sick from school.

Which was often.

Super excited for the movie. Johnny Depp is the perfect choice, I think.

The last good movie that Tim Burton has made, in my opinion, was Sweeney Todd.

hi dan! sorry i only have one hand to type with. the other has iv near my knuckles. all veins are blown now

a bit better, have some blood now. was in icu, then had an emergency operation to keep me alive. now better

You're exactly who I came back to chat with. hard to type, tho taking forever to get soemthing typped out and not going back to erase mistakes. not much here to do in the hospitla anywy, hoping you guys would take my mind off the pain. Right now penicillin ins going through my iv and it burns like crazy when it hit's my veins.
