Bos & Ted, you know, don't you, that in Larry Niven's Known Space universe, violations of the law, such as tax evasion, get citizens sentenced to the organ banks? Essentially, the demand for transplantable organs is such that the sentence for any crime is death - by being carved up and your organs harvested by the nearest handy autodoc.
Nice world, huh?
I confess I've never read Niven, though I have always meant to do so. One of those writers who is on my "to be read... someday" list.
Bos, you should. Ringworld is probably one to start with, or maybe Protector. The Man-Kzin Wars anthologies are also pretty good and really base you in the culture of Known Space.
Ringworld is the reason I want to read him.
It's just a case of too many authors, too little time.
I need to get paid to read, somehow.
Become an editor for one of the Big Six or a print magazine?

There you are. Looks like you're flying around again purty good.
How bout a little target practice?

My friends are telling me to go apply to work at their call center. I'm thinking I should.
I will, however, get some writing done tonight because I've been looking forward to it all day. It's nice to be able to come home and do something I enjoy.
hmm...there was a demented Easter bunny, a disturbing chick, a my lil pony , Barney (barf), and I think you caught the rest from there. AC needs more pie. Never jab a mod cat with a stick at three in the morning. :/
