ng, are you prepared for your appointment in amish country?
*salutes coach cray*
As prepared as I'm going to be, sir. I did a 14 miler last week and almost died that last mile, it was so damn hot and humid! But that's it for my long runs -- my 8-miler tomorrow will feel really easy in comparison. And then it's taper time.
I'm afraid I'm likely to run my worst half ever -- I only just started up running again post-injury 12 weeks ago, and generally I've trained 12 weeks specifically for a half on top of a solid mileage base. And I've taken a look at the course -- there is a NASTY 2 mile long hill at the beginning of the race!
But, hey, I'll certainly finish running the whole way unless I trip and break my leg on the way. And who knows -- if it's cooler than it's been, I may surprise myself.
In any case, I think I'm going to register for another half five weeks later. I'm more likely to do well on the second one, when I've got a wee bit more training under my belt.
ETA: I'm really tempted to take another trip back to the folks and do this one:

My brother is doing it (and so is my brother's very attractive friend...
). But that might bit a wee bit too soon after the Amish race, and I did just get back from a trip up there...
More likely I'll register for this one.
