Well, since you're asking...
Someone was shot in front of my building last night. I came out this morning to find two armed cops on my front doorstep. And there have been two murders in my hood in the last two weeks, one on my street, and one a block away. I always felt pretty safe in my hood. Right now, not so much.
By the way, I walked past the NYC Ironman finish this morning. It's not quite half a mile from me -- assuming they'll let me into Riverside park, I should be able to literally walk a block and see them coming into the finish. I still haven't heard an update on the sewage situation in the Hudson.
wow. i'm jealous of that last part. not so much the first situation there with the killings, etc.
anyway, last i heard the swim is on.

I'd love to see the end, but I've got plans with friends. On the other hand, at least one of them is enough of a tri-geek to possibly be interested in cutting out early and watching it with me. Hmmm...and that would guarantee me an escort home without having to whine and bat my eyelashes for it. Normally I'm a reasonably fearless city girl, but in light of the three murders...frankly an escort would be pretty welcome just now. Hmmm. Yes, I'll definitely try to talk him into it!

now that i know you live so close i am thinking about changing my policy on meeting up with internet freaks.
You know, I've seen this guy and I don't think it's necessarily a good idea to have him walk you home.
