Oh and hey, apparently I just passed my two-year anniversary of joining too, although I didn't actually start posting and hanging out here until last year. (I can be slow.)

Morning all.

CM great way to start the morning

love the riot ponies

Sorry to hear about your mom. Both of my great grandmothers had Alzheimer's. It is a very hard way to go.

Today will be mighty busy here, don't talk too much okay?

If I could, I surely would.

Glad you didn't hurt yourself on the ice. Tricksy nasty stuffs.
You should :D and yes, I saved myself from serious pain/humiliation in the nick of time. Luckily, being short, I have a low centre of gravity...

I have been here for all seven years that this particular set of forums has existed. And about a year back when it was an ezboard.

I love this place with all my heart.

Wow. TJ is OLD SCHOOL!

Afternoon folks. I think I need some tea. Brain... not functioning...

I need tea. Alas.

Okay folks, I have noted your movie suggestions, but I need Moar. I must find something The Guy and I will enjoy. Maybe something like the sixth sense??

Oh, zanzjan, try a Morgan, these are yummy.

I thought you meant:

Tabby%20Sue%202.jpg

And I was all

:D

And tomorrow I turn even more old school. I turn ...........30!

As Eye told me, happy fourth decade.

No need to thank me...

Car is very tasty, indeed! I feel if I owned one, I would have to wear an aviator's cap and goggles and long white scarf whenever I drove anywhere, though. Not that that's a problem.

You can occasionally see one being driven around and generally the drivers do look the part. They also tend to smile. Being a cyclist I see a lot of car drivers and most of the time they are gritting their teeth and scowling. Not exactly the greatest advert for driving.

Wow. TJ is OLD SCHOOL!
I have a lot to learn about this forum still, but I think calling TJ anything involving the word old might be a bad move right now. *Edges out of the way*

I just saw this sign in my local library

FREE FRIDAY'S

Hire one DVD
and get the another

FREE

My first thought was 'Funny I've never paid for one' rapidly followed by 'someone's been watching too much Shakespeare'.

Then I went in the shop opposite on the hunt of chocolate - 'we wantz it'.
So I am browsing the selection with himself and we suddenly go into time lapse buying: 'do you remember when these were this big?' Every sweet and candy bar we saw seemed to have shrunk by 50% and had it's price inflated by the same proportion. Then I spotted a rather nifty, or maybe that should be nasty, move: the double bar. You know, where they offer you two bits of something that add up to the one you used to buy previously only they now charge you an extra 30%. I ended up with no chocolate bar and feeling very pessimistic. Hummmph!

i think that this may call for action. (Where's the superhero voice when you need it?)

A couple that with decent plots and characterization:

F1ght Club (nice twists)
Seren1ty (no comment required)
Capta1n America (fer realz. Surprisingly good)
Oc3an's 11/12/13 (funny and entertaining)
Cas1no Royale (Daniel Craig FTW)
Battl3 for Los Angeles (Lots of alien vs. humans making each other go boom)
D1stric 9 (nice take on the whole "alien visitors" concept)
Al1en Nation (ditto)
Predat0rs (the one with Lawrence Fishburn. It was surprisingly not awful).
Br1dges of Mad1son County (AHAHAHA! Just kidding)
P1rates 4 (same review as Predat0rs.)
Up (fer realz)
Kn1ght and Day (also fer realz. Surprisingly funny and action packed)
MI:3 (waaaaaaay better than the first two. Plus, Phillip Seymour Hoffman should have earned an Oscar for his bad guy).

Uh, there are probably a ton more, but these should get the ball rolling.

I'm not bothered by turning 30, as some people are. Seems kind of silly to get worked up by the fact that I continue to live to celebrate another birthday.

I do, however, enjoy making jokes about it and watching other people get worked up for me in sympathy. :)

You mean apart from the entirely predictable plot and the fact that the Mexican guy AND the Other Black guy both died within the first half an hour? :p

But no apart from that it was all hunky doory.

I got no movie suggestions, sorry. Also, home time in half an hour. Woot!

And lo, on the third day the Lord said "Let's there be mutiquote" and there was. And it was good.

Tired fairy is tired....

Ohhh, riot horses. I'll round them up when the appoxyclips starts.

I should really learn to spell apocalypse rather than hide behind the apoxyclips word...

Did I spell it right?!

I say we stick with apoxyclips: #1 cuz it's my word & #2 because this way, when people google/search, they will look for apocalypse and thus, not steal and/or know our strategy

Aaawwww Junely you can come. You're all invited to the UK :)

Ok folks time for lunch. *goes to tend to hungry, hungry belly*

*packs bags*

ok, cat... it's war!!! I need coffees!

Slow intertubez are slow.

Multi-Quoth the Raven:

I love, love, love, love, LOVE me some Kevin Olusola. Not only a fabulous beat boxing cellist, but plays the sax, too. He also speaks 5 languages (including Chinese), went to Yale, and now has a recording contract with an acapella band (search YouTube for both him and Pentatonix. Bloody brilliant, the lot!)

Um... Sorry. I have a... Thing.

This. :)

30 never bothered me, either. I had a little trouble with 36, though, and I expect I'll continue to have trouble until after I'm 40... Being 40 and single (or casually dating a guy ten years younger, which doesn't seem so bad at 36) might just make me feel sorry for myself. Hehe :)

Also good, speaking of movies with "district" in the title: D!strict B13. If you like poorly-plotted movies mostly revolving around dystopian Paris, parkour and that peculiarly French trope of a hot girl with smudged mascara becoming involuntarily addicted to drugs. *nods*

I also has a sore mouf where the damn tootsie pop sucker ripped up my upper pallette. not sure if I'm spelling that kind of pallette right. I doubt it.

Also - as editing last night, I had a teared up moment. It was very soft and emotional.

somebody hold me...

Meh. 30 is still practically a kid :)
