This doesn't even sound like an anonymous wannabe. Even they'd be more likely to hunt down the site defacers, and attack *them*.

If it was the writer's PR firm, it was a stupid stunt. Odds are it's someone who knows her and has an axe to grind. Or some neo-con with a little bit of savvy and an axe to grind.

30 years ago in 'Bloom County', Berke Breathed snarked about 'offensensitivity': the tendency of people to think that something offensive in the world was aimed specifically at them, and to answer the offense with extreme measures. This paranoid victim-culture is why Danish cartoonists get death-threats, and why Dutch film-makers get killed. Many, many groups need to grow up and get over their tribal provincialism and exceptionalism, before their feuds help destroy humanity.

In this context: if sexy books offend you, don't ban them and commit terrorist acts against the writer. Just don't read them.

To quote the Britcom 'Hot Metal':

Angry Reader: "I find naked breasts distasteful."
Editor: "Well, stop tasting them, then!"

I said "idiot children of anonymous," meaning it's a wannabe, not anonymous.
Okay, that I can totally agree with. It's someone inspired by Anonymous.
As for the term "hacking," trust me, I'm in the industry, I know, but the battle over popular usage of that word has been lost. Computer geeks are never going to reclaim the original definition.
True, dat.
