    December 2011 Blog Chain

Starting Date: Friday, December 2, 2011
Open to all forum members, even after it starts!

    This month's prompt:
Home for the Holidays (not associated with the real Holiday).

This one is broad: write about a holiday memory. It can be fiction or non-fiction, and the choice of holiday is yours (fictional holidays are okay too). Perhaps you can invent an annoying relative. Maybe you knew someone who got an actual lump of coal in their stocking. Or there's always the tale of Nilatir, Sword-Hero of Evinrude, and the Feast of Sam'x.

    Instructions:
Simply post your blog's URL in this thread to join. Each post should be less than 1000 words if possible. Read and comment on other participants' posts if you possibly can--they'll be doing the same for you!

I'll let you know in this thread when it's your turn.
Once your turn comes up, you have two days to complete your post. When you are finished, please add a link to your post on the thread. If you signed up but find yourself unable to participate or need to be moved around in the schedule, please PM me or post in the thread. If you fail to post on your blog and on the thread within two days, I'll bump you down to the end of the line on the third day; you'll get a second chance at the end of the month.

Please include a list of all participants' blogs in your blog post, and keep in mind we're not starting until the second Thursday of the month to give people time to sign up.

Can it be in the form of a poem? A limerick perhaps?

Why not? I'd prefer a rhymed Alexandrine written in Archaic Greek in the boustrophedon style, but a limerick is good too.

Hey guys, it turns out that my travel plans this American Thanksgiving did not include stable internet access. I promise I'll get the thread cleaned up and new participants added when I get home tonight or tomorrow morning.

Sign me up. Hopefully I won't have to back out later. Is it really time for December already? Where did Thanksgiving go and why is there a tree in my living room?

There appears to be enough people ahead of me that I can safely jump into this one. I just started my rough draft so I should have time to sufficiently obsess over it.

    I'm in!
