That is so amazing. I won't say I'm not utterly jealous, but with an experience like that, it sounds like your book really deserves it. :D Andrea is fantastic - good luck with everything!

Natures Maiden - I took your advice for the subject line w/ all of my new queries, and it worked with Andrea, at least :) Partial request.

ETA: I used the agency's online form, I didn't email her directly.

I queried her on 6/16 and I received a rejection this morning. I have to say, this is by far the best rejections I've ever received. She doesn't go around the bush and she definitely does not hide her reasons for rejection behind the usual "not what I'm looking for." She said that the first five pages did not "draw her in" and hey, it's not her taste. Anyone would be lucky to have her as their agent so congratulations Natures Maiden, you hit the jackpot.

El Fenix, that letter about not being drawn in by the first five pages is actually her form reject. I got it about a year ago and asked about it here. :)

Does anyone know if Sara is a NRMN agent?

And, congratulations Natures Maiden! :partyguy:

Sara has always responded any time I've sent her a query. I just got a decline on a full a couple of days ago from her.

Does anyone have a partial/full out to Sara? I'm curious about her response times to those. Thanks!

Back in April/May, Sara took about a month and a half to respond to my full.

Hi everyone!

I just got a response from Andrea asking for the first five pages on my manuscript. Does anyone know approximately how long before she responds to the sample?

Thanks!

In my experience (2 queries) she responded within two weeks, once with a request for a full and once with a rejection.

Are you supposed to include the first five? I didn't see that anywhere on their site. She asked me to send the first five, as she did you, but I haven't heard anything else.

I stopped using AQ because it kept feeding me agents for "fantasy" that didn't actually rep fantasy. They weren't listed as fantasy on QT or on their own sites, and once I was able to confirm that they didn't because I knew someone repped at that agency and she confirmed that nobody there repped fantasy, so....

I stopped even looking.

Miamyselfandi, I used aq too. THAT might explain a few things! Where do you look now?

I start at querytracker and confirm from there.

For example, AQ says that Stephanie Kip Rostan reps fantasy. QT doesn't have it listed. QT is right. AQ is wrong. And I found a lot of bad fantasy listings on AQ. Nobody else complains about AQ so I don't know what to say about it, except I don't trust theri listings.
