Practical steps to promote your book

Good article. As she said:

"I put the book on Amazon and left it at that. I mean really left it at that – not even my parents knew I had published the book! I sold two books in October, four in November, and thirty-four in December"

That's bit of a relief, at least I know its not me! She talks of Word of Mouth toward the end as the most important which I think just goes to show that half the battle is writing as best book you can in the first place, otherwise your marketing success may be short lived.

Eventually will start marketing mine and aim for a state of WOMBAM (Word Of Mouth Book Advertising Momentum).

Great post. It's always helpful to hear what other indie authors are doing to promote their books. It's so hard to know what works and what doesn't.
