I was in the middle of replying to a post, and was called away from my desk. Came back, added a bunch to the post and submitted. I received a you are not logged in message, even though the post page showed that I was indeed logged in as PhotoHutch.

I logged in, and everything was gone, nothing left but an empty message box waiting for words.

Is the post lost forever? Is there a time limit for inactivity?

Thanks!

Yes, there is a time out period based on inactivity, after which you will be logged off.

If you are not using a public terminal, you might want to check the "keep me logged in" box on the login dialog.

The post probably is lost forever, if it is not in your local browser cache (if it is is, you can retrieve it by using the back arrow.)

I'm sorry you lost your post; I know how frustrating that is.

Thanks for the tip on keep me logged in. I figured that was a cookie sort of thing. . . .

No big deal, probably for the best. My post was a somewhat snippy reply to a slightly condescending comment. . . .
