No one has any favorite bands? I'll bite!

My favorites generally rotate as my tastes vary, but here are a few:

All time favs: The Moody Blues, Zao, Weezer

Current Favs: Baroness, Shrinebuilder, High on Fire, The Sword, Trouble, Electric Wizard

Favs that ebb and flow: My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy (specifically the Under the Cork Tree album), Underoath, Foo Fighters

30 Seconds to Mars, Linkin Park and Goo Goo Dolls.

Those are the three bands I listen to most often. I like others, but those are my defaults.

I can get really carried away with this stuff. I'm such a music geek. It drives most of my friends nuts, and I have trouble keeping music references out of my writing.

The Dresden Dolls - "dark cabaret," quirky two-piece
Pet Shop Boys - 80's synthpop
Cobra Starship - dance-punk
The Sounds - dance-punk/new wave
Bad Religion - punk rock
Roxette - 90's swedish pop!
AFI - punk rock with a gothy twist
Millencolin - swedish punk rock
Flogging Molly - punk rock with an irish folk twist
Lady Gaga - stuff
Blink-182 - pop punk, high-school nostalgia
Annie - norwegian pop
The Cardigans - swedish pop. love those scandinavians
Ace of Base - i can't believe they replaced BOTH vocalists, wth
The Ark - swedish glam rock and it's ridiculous
Gym Class Heroes - hip-hop played with instruments
Tsunami Bomb - female-fronted punk-rock
Gin Blossoms - 90's grunge-lite
Duran Duran - and i won't cry for yesterday, there's an ordinary world, somehow i have to fiiiiiiiind
No Use for a Name - punk-rock
Ferry Corsten - dutch trance DJ
Armin van Buuren - dutch trance DJ
Tiesto - dutch trance DJ
Gareth Emery - british guy who is like a dutch trance DJ
Sander van Doorn - dutch trance DJ
Dash Berlin - dutch trance DJ
Deadmau5 - canadian progressive house DJ

Slayer and Suicidal Tendencies are my all time favorite bands. Then I have my flavors of the month which vary widely across the musical spectrum.

I know I'll lie awake tonight sweating with second thoughts about this list (yes, I am that much of a geek), but here goes (in no particular order & I've included solo acts):

Nine Inch Nails
The Stooges
The Beatles
Laura Marling
Peaches
Ladytron
AA Bondy
Queens of the Stone Age
Bob Dylan
Depeche Mode
The Dead Weather
The Who
Dinosaur Jr
Charlotte Gainsbourg
Hello Saferide
The Ettes
Primal Scream
Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan

ETA: I have to give an honorary mention to the old Icarus Line (before Aaron left) simply because Penance Soiree may be one of the best albums ever made and Getting Bright At Night has THE best guitar solo in the history of music
