Hello all. I am a first time author and new member here. I have recently completed my first novel "The Dugout in the Basement" and am looking for an agent. I've already queried two and received my first rejection. I've been checking out agents on the AAR website and the Bewares, Recommendations & Background Check forum on this site. Looking for any suggestions, encouragement, answers (or questions), etc.

If you go to the bottom of the page to the 'forum jump' you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. After you post 50 posts you can use the SYW areas to get help there. The password for some of the areas is…..vista. A word to the wise, it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

at the top of Forum pages. They are your best guide to learning about
Absolute Write.

Don’t forget to read the FAQ regarding posting pictures at AW.


Members who want to start a thread in Share Your Work to have work critiqued need
50 posts. So take some time to greet fellow newbies, critique other members’
works, or join a discussion.

Don't forget about Agent Query and Publishers Marketplace. You may want to hold off sending queries to more agents until you reach 50 posts and then post your query letter in Share Your Work

Thank you everyone. I look forward to sharing ideas and encouragement with any and all. The forums here seem to be a treasure trove of information. It's almost overwhelming, but I'm dedicating myself to reading as much as I can.
