    September 2011 Blog Chain

Starting Date: Thursday September 8, 2011
Open to all forum members, even after it starts!

    This month's prompt: A Picture's Worth a Thousand Words

You have two choices this month:

Option 1: Respond to the default picture.
Write a brief response to this picture: Nighthawks (1942) by Edward Hopper.

Option 2: Respond to your own picture.
The default not doing anything for you? Choose your own picture! You must include a link to the picture in your post. Please, no overly violent, sexual, or otherwise NSFW pictures. Let's keep this PG-13/15 certificate, okay?

Simply post in this thread to join. Each post should be less than 1000 words if possible. Read and comment on other participants' posts if you possibly can--they'll be doing the same for you!

I'll let you know in this thread when it's your turn.
Once your turn comes up, you have two days to complete your post. When you are finished, please post a link to your post on the thread so I can let the next person in line know that their turn is up. If you signed up but find yourself unable to participate or need to be moved around in the schedule, please PM me or post in the thread. If you fail to post on your blog and on the thread within two days, I'll bump you down to the end of the line on the third day; you'll get a second chance at the end of the month.

Please include a list of all participants' blogs in your blog post, and keep in mind we're not starting until the second Thursday of the month to give people time to sign up.

I'm editing my post from last month ATM, and am getting ready to comment on the that chain (yeah - ever so slightly behind, but I'm done with the short now). Count me in on this as well...

The multimedia incorporation into the posts this last couple of months has been a stellar idea.
The blog, which may not be updated regularly enough. -- I'm linking to other AW blogs here. -- There's some nonsense here when I can be bothered.
    Don't hold your breath...

I'm just popping in here to say I'M SORRY for flaking out on the July (I think it was July ... June?) chain so terribly. This was a hard, hard summer for me in so many ways ... writing anything, even blog posts, even comments on blogs, seemed insurmountable at times.

Keeping any semblance of sanity was first priority.

I apologize for not holding up my end ... and while I enjoyed being part of the chain for a couple of months, I won't join again until I feel I won't let the others down.

Hope you all have a great September!

I'll give it go...as long as I'm not first.

I'll join this month (and thanks for accommodating me on the bump down last month!).

I think it'll be really interesting to see the different takes on this picture, and how people can put their own spin/genre spin on it. Fun stuff.

I can't promise that, in the absence of severed fingers and ghost pirates, that this chain will be as fun as the last. But I'm glad to see some of our August newbies returning!

But no ghost pirates? It doesn't count if there are missing body parts but no ghost pirates.

I'll have to play next month. I'm going on a trip abroad on the 14th, and will miss the bulk of prime writing time. That, and I need to update the rest of last month's posts to reflect the final entries.

Had to check and see when it started. For a second I thought it would start tomorrow, but tomorrow is Labor Day in the U.S. so....

Yeah, writing counts as a labor. So we'll be having none of that today.

Well I wrote my daily blog post, but that doesn't count as writing.

    I mean, not really.

Sorry, no ghost pirates from me this time. Got too many pokers in the fire and it's stressing me out.

Deep breath... Nope that didn't work.
