    ...and how will we remember thee?
    Without the things that remind us,
    there's no shortcake biscuits with tea—
    and how will we remember the
    apple pies, or fresh raspberry
    crumble that you'd make just for us?
    And how! Will we remember thee,
    without the things that remind us?

    Without, the things that remind us
    smell. These rosemary plants arouse
    memories from within. We fuss
    without the things that remind us
    all about. We long to discuss
    our trees that blossom; barren boughs
    without the things that remind us.
    Smell these. Rosemary plants arouse.

    smell these rosemary plants, arouse
    forgotten evenings on the summer porch;
    remember when in innocence, you looked within my blouse?
    smell - these rosemary plants arouse.
    Time has come, he planted, now he plows,
    for eighty years burns this torch;
    smell - these rosemary plants arouse
    forgotten evenings on the summer porch.

    Forgotten evenings on the summer porch,
    spoken promises, rocking in the swing.
    Are the memories of the sheets we scorched
    forgotten? Evenings on the summer porch—
    a kiss, a prelude to love, then we torched
    the flames of passion on the old box spring.
    Forgotten! Evenings on the summer porch—
    broken promises rocking in the swing.

    When in doubt, make it about sex.
    Spoken to broken = poetic license

    Broken. Promises rocking in the swing
    of this scale. Imbalance weighs on my mind
    like a beached whale: no chance I'd be seeing
    broken promises rocking! In the swing,
    I wore a pale sun dress with white stockings.
    You were in unison, until I find
    broken promises, rocking in the swing
    of this. Scale imbalance weighs on my mind.

    of this scale, imbalance weighs on my mind:
    whether to love, though love has left my life,
    or simply lust, abandoning hope for love I'll never find;
    of this scale, imbalance weighs on my mind.
    just for sex, and nothing more, there's plenty of this kind,
    a deeper love seems to cause such strife;
    of this scale, imbalance weighs on my mind,
    whether to love, though love has left my life.

    Whether to love, though love has left my life,
    I must decide. What the future unfolds
    is this query carved inside with a knife:
    whether to love. Though love has left, my life
    moves on as mom and friend--just not as wife.
    I must don this grin to get through the cold
    weather--to love though love has left my life.
    I must decide what the future unfolds.

    i must decide what the future unfolds
    flinging wishes, like coins falling in a fountain;
    the wants, desires and hope-to-be's i told,
    i must decide what the future holds.
    in reckless abandon, youth is nothing short of bold;
    foolishly destorying the past i cursed to maintain,
    i must decide what the future unfolds;
    flinging wishes, like coins falling in a fountain.

    Flinging wishes, like coins falling in a fountain,
    may your dreams find firmer footing than mine.
    Singing witches stir at the crown of the mountain,
    flinging wishes. Like coins falling in a fountain,
    their deadly potions splash. Add a pinch of distain
    to the mix where I'm mashed with pitch of pine,
    flinging wishes like coins. Falling in a fountain,
    may your dreams find firmer footing than mine.

    I know, too many rhymes. I couldn't help myself.

    "May, your dreams find firmer footing than mine,"
    passing through the garden a man observes.
    Flowers rooted in the hard ground design
    May. "Your dreams find. Firmer footing than mine
    forces me to follow, so I resign."
    His fond adieu: "Never-ending reserves
    may your dreams find; firmer footing than mine
    passing." Through the garden a man observes.

    passing: through a garden, a man observes,
    as a flower fades, beauty becomes but a memory
    left alone, inspiration is lost to the praise it deserves;
    passing through a garden, a man observes
    with dimlit eye, the import of life often blurs;
    unattended, the sprig wilts from atrophy.
    passing through, a garden a man observes
    as a flower fades, beauty becomes but a memory

    As a flower fades, beauty becomes but a memory
    to be renewed. With the help of a compound chemical
    injection stew, Nature is given new trajectories:
    as a flower fades, beauty becomes. But a memory
    of youth also induces my wife's supplementary
    purchases of products to make her skin delectable
    as a flower -- faded beauty becomes but a memory
    to be renewed with the help of a compound chemical.

    to be renewed with the help of a compound chemical,
    the physical now but a facsimile,
    replication of a truth which seems comical
    to be renewed with the help of a compound chemical;
    plastic or paper, titanium or aluminum? Flesh, topical
    conversation we want to avoid; I ask, is it me?
    to be renewed with the help of a compound chemical,
    the physical now but a facsimile.

    The physical now but a facsimile
    of the future we hoped for together.
    Ethereal dreams we based on our symmetry—
    the physical. Now but a facsimile,
    our dance has become nothing but drudgery,
    an appointment to romp on bed feathers
    (the physical now). But ... a facsimile
    of the future we hoped for together?

    Of the future we hoped for together,
    the adventures I did not stop. To tell
    people we're doves, when it's just a feather
    of the future we hoped for together,
    you are certain to do. Downed by weather
    the days I'm with you does not speak well
    of the future. We hoped for, together,
    the adventures. I did not stop to tell.

    The adventures I did not stop to tell
    They changed my life for the better
    So there was a time I lived in hell
    The adventures I did not stop to tell
    But I found the strength to help me excel
    I now live my life without fetter
    The adventures I did not stop to tell
    They changed my life for the better

    They changed my life for the better.
    "Let her go if she so insists."
    It wasn't that dear John letter
    they changed; my life for the better
    turned when they showed me my debt or
    penance to pay for the long list
    they changed. My life, for the better,
    let her go if she so insists.

    Let her go if she so insists
    or else consequences will come
    through my fists. Anytime she resists,
    let her. Go if she so insists --
    don’t look back, you can’t coexist,
    return to wherever you’re from.
    Let her go if she so insists,
    or else! Consequences will come…

    Or else! Consequences will come
    If you don't sit your butt down now
    And that equation solve somehow
    Or else! Consequences will come
    Enough! Get working on that easy sum
    Or you'll end up on a garbage scow
    Or else! Consequences will come
    If you don't sit your butt down now

    If you don't sit your butt down now,
    the teacher will do it for you.
    There'll be nothing that you're allowed
    if you don't sit your butt down now.
    You want to steal the plastic cow—
    the mascot for all that we do?
    If you don't sit your butt down now,
    the teacher will do it for you.

    the teacher will do it for you
    revealing a higher way,
    challenge your mind to think anew
    the teacher will do it for you;
    proud of all you knew,
    there was nothing left to convey;
    the teacher will do it for you
    revealing a higher way

    Revealing a higher way,
    signs point out the direction.
    The meaning of what they say—
    revealing—a higher way
    concealing misery's day.
    Suffer enough perfection,
    revealing a higher way,
    signs point out the direction.

    Signs point out; the direction
    I should have taken from the start.
    I look over the rejection
    signs--point out the direction
    hope took with your inflection.
    Your scale did not match my chart
    signs. Point out the direction
    I should have taken from the start.

    i should have taken from the start,
    leaving nothing for you to waste;
    too late, you've trashed my heart
    i should have taken from the start;
    with mutual respect we could have part,
    rather than enemity; why such haste?
    i should have taken from the start,
    leaving nothing for you to waste.

    Leaving nothing for you to waste.
    I ate all the cookies you made today
    They are much too good to give away
    Leaving nothing for you to waste.
    I should compliment you on how they taste
    But it's hard to type while I nom away
    Leaving nothing for you to waste,
    I ate all the cookies you made today
