I tread with sadness in disgrace.
For I made an egregious mistake,
Tears stream down my heavy face,
I tread with sadness in disgrace.
At the art of failure I’m an ace,
With self doubt and regret I break,
I tread with sadness in disgrace.
For I made an egregious mistake,

For I made an egregious mistake,
giving her children my blessing.
I found what they wanted to take,
for I made an egregious mistake.
The widower's widow's a fake,
and through force, she was confessing.
For I made an egregious mistake,
giving her children my blessing.

Giving her children my blessing
so safely ensconced in this tree.
Mother brings dragonflies dangling,
giving her children. My blessing
to the tiniest grey fledgling,
I watch as they ready to leave.
Giving her children my blessing
so safely, ensconced, in this tree

Where opinions have a distinct aroma.
So, safely ensconced, in this tree
we find a return to our roots -
a world between man and monkey
so safely. Ensconced in this tree,
I relax to the new found ease;
life; luxuries; and natures fruits
so safely ensconced. In this tree
we find a return to our roots.

We find a return to our roots,
nourishment for the deepest part.
Above that which settles disputes,
we find a return to our roots
is morally left without fruit
sometimes. Deceitful from the start,
we find a return to our roots:
nourishment for the deepest part.

Nourishment for the deepest part
worked gently into well tilled soil.
Seedlings welcome with open heart—
nourishment. For the deepest part
roots search, and wait for rain to start.
Autumn bounty's the prize for toil,
nourishment— for the deepest part
worked gently, into well tilled soil.

Worked gently, into well tilled soil.
A would-be plant in the form of a seed,
With sweat and purposeful toil,
Worked gently, into well tilled soil.
Into the garden under the sun’s broil,
With water and love it’ll succeed,
Worked gently, into well tilled soil.
A would-be plant in the form of a seed,

In the Castle, of course.
(I am very unsure about this, but I will give it a go. Please don't laugh.)

A would-be plant in the form of a seed
twines dangerously through hearts dour,
leaves men weeping with every need.
A would-be plant in the form of a seed.
Inmates slash vines until they bleed--
trapped within your perfumed bower.
A would-be plant in the form of a seed
twines dangerously through hearts dour.

Twines, dangerously through hearts – dour,
cling to twisted, amorphous spines.
Such is the bitter taste – that, sour,
twines dangerously. Through hearts, dour
as crushed androgynous flowers,
I press my sense might (upward) climb
twines dangerously – through hearts, dour;
cling to twisted, amorphous spines.

Cling to twisted, amorphous spines.
Humankind has ultimately lost its way.
Somehow blind to the tell-tale signs.
Cling to twisted, amorphous spines.
Clearly the whole of humanity declines.
Take witness to the world’s social decay.
Cling to twisted, amorphous spines.
Humankind has ultimately lost its way.

Humankind has ultimately lost its way
from the pantry to the kitchen.
Hunkering down on life's buffet,
humankind has ultimately lost. It's way
at the end by the chop suey--
the buffalo crispy chicken.
Humankind has ultimately lost its way
from the pantry to the kitchen.

I admit chop suey's a stretch.

In the Castle, of course.
From the pantry to the kitchen
he sways like a drunken sailor.
Ruby wine in waves goes pitchin'
from the pantry to the kitchen
floor--his ass needin' a switchin'.
His wife insists she's not his jailor.
Yet, neighbors far hear her bitchin',
"he sways like a drunken sailor!"

He sways like a drunken sailor
stumbling down the Long Beach pier.
Without care about the jailer,
he sways. Like a drunken sailor,
sheets to the wind, off a whaler,
his shipmates pump him full of beer:
He sways like a drunken sailor
stumbling down the Long Beach pier.

Half washed away by summer storm,
her nature was cold and listless.
Her changing story was the norm,
half washed away by summer storm.
Our passion 'neath the sheets would swarm;
my heart did soar, for my mistress
half washed away. By summer storm,
her nature was cold and listless.

Her nature was cold and listless,
drifting the halls at night;
on the eve of the storm she was kissed less,
her nature was cold and listless.
in the night a shrill cry was expressed,
many guests she gave anxious fright;
her nature was cold and listless
drifting the halls at night.

Drifting the halls at night
was knowledge with no ambition,
like a boomerang lost in flight.
Drifting the halls at night,
flying around corners too tight,
cursed by my predisposition.
Drifting the halls at night
was knowledge with no ambition.

Was knowledge with no ambition
this partnership's final death knell?
Slovenly by your own admission
was knowledge with no ambition.
You goad me into admission;
like a fool I fell for your spell.
T'was knowledge with no ambition--
this partnership's final death knell.

This partnership's final death knell,
It's been coming for quite a while,
A partnership I thought I knew well,
This partnership's final death knell,
It's time to discard this hollow shell,
This partnership is far too hostile,
This partnership's final death knell,
It's been coming for quite a while,

It's been coming for quite a while
through moments passed, unborn in flesh.
Perched on mouth-corners as a smile
it's been coming; for quite a while
in perishable thoughts that beguile
the lonely time-stream and the quest
it's been coming for; quite a while
through moments; passed unborn in flesh.

Through moments passed unborn in flesh,
they hold to family as their own,
the archduke and his fair duchess.
Through moments passed, unborn in flesh,
a royal line cold and loveless.
A scornful look upon the throne
through moments passed. Unborn in flesh,
they hold to family as their own.

They hold to family as their own,
Just as you will do- welcome aboard.
Each man worth his salt against the unknown,
They hold to family as their own,
They've flown through hell and raging cyclone,
Just as you will do- do we have an accord?
They hold to family as their own,
Just as you will do- welcome aboard.

Like (I’m guessing) others, I could not find a grammatically feasible way of using the first line, and got tired of seeing the thread stalled. So the first part is now a parenthetical aside. :D Ah, poetic license.

(Just as you will do) –Welcome aboard
this sinking ship that is our lives.
Here I will meet what fate's in store,
just as you will do. Welcome aboard
this fractured hull but rest assured
with pump and pail I will survive–
just as you will do. Welcome aboard
this sinking ship. That is our lives.

This sinking ship that is our lives,
suspended upon disbelief –
who will go down, and who survives
this sinking ship? That is our lives,
wrapped in the waves – flushed in the tides.
Counter foil (the only relief),
this sinking ship – that is, our lives
suspended upon disbelief.

Suspended upon disbelief
and beyond raging storms of doubt,
I ran aground. On coral reef
suspended, upon disbelief
upended, and without relief,
indeed. It was a water spout
suspended upon disbelief ...
and beyond? Raging storms of doubt.
