Thanks for your prayers, everyone. Things seem going well so far. Sis got better results this time around than she usually gets.

She and her kids could still use your prayers, though. She and her ex have to come back to mediation in about a month to see how things are going. Chances are good that if her ex doesn't get his way, he'll take this to family court.

My nephew's especially in need of prayers. The mediator agreed with Sis that he needs to be tested for autism. She strongly suspects he has it, and if he does, she hopes to get him help for it.

My sister needs some more prayers; she and her ex are meeting with the mediator again tomorrow. Also, she got a letter from her health insurance saying that she was making too much money to qualify for it (mind you, she's a teacher). She'll have to go to the school district HQ sometime this week to see if she can get insurance through her job. We're really hoping she can, but this is Arizona.

On a lighter note, school starts in about a week or two. My 2 sisters in the education profession and their school-aged kids could use use some prayers for a smooth transition back to school.

Thank you for the prayers. Sis is going to need a lot more of them, though.

Sis came back from mediation and the news isn't good. Something seems to have happened in the last mediation session that made the female mediator bring in a 2nd, male mediator for this session. As we suspected, her ex is taking her to family court because things didn't go 100% his way. The male mediator felt the need to offer to escort Sis to her car in case her ex tried to cause trouble; she took him up on his offer.

We're hoping that since mediation didn't go his way that family court won't go his way either. We're also hoping Sis'll realize that she needs a lawyer who specializes in family law (?), and that hiring one is not being disloyal to her current lawyer, who doesn't specialize in it and hasn't really been that big a help. (He's not bad lawyer, he's just out of his area of expertise.)

Thanks again for the prayers, everyone. Everyone did fine the first day of school. My oldest nephew started at a new school and even made a new friend! Hopefully, his father will see this and not take Sis to court over his education.

Sadly, Sis's problems seem to be dogpiling her. Last week she had an MRI done on her back; it showed a cyst on her spine. I don't know if she has gotten new insurance yet. So please keep praying for her.

Just got some very bad news: my Mom has rectal cancer. She's going to see doctors and get tests to see what can be done. I know it's not an automatic death sentence, but I'm still sad and worried. Please pray for us.

Thanks for the prayers, everyone. I'm taking this better than I imagined I'd take cancer news. It helps that I looked at the National Cancer Institute website to see what treatments there are. Our immediate family and two nephews know about Mom, but my divorced sister's ex had her kids this week, so she'll tell them herself after she picks them up today. Since my nephew has some psych issues he's really going to need prayers.

Since I posted, I learned that the fire east of LA is encroaching on Burbank, one of LA's suburbs. There have been evacuations. I have a very dear friend who lives there who has no transportation. So, I'd appreciate prayers for his safety too.

Also, I'm sure we have a bunch of AW people who live there or near there.
