And thanks for the prayers for those of us in fire country, everyone. Our air is now healthy.
I've only asked for this once before, and that was for my brother who was then diagnosed with Leukemia. I ask you again today, because my most Beloved Hubby has to have a biopsy made on his prostate. Please help him! As an atheist, I feel sooo hampered. People tell me that I can pray even without being a believer. I don't believe them. I know it might sound wrong of me to ask for this, but I honestly do believe in the power of prayers. I just do not believe that mine would make a difference. I thank you in advance
Sis came back from mediation and the news isn't good. Something seems to have happened in the last mediation session that made the female mediator bring in a 2nd, male mediator for this session. As we suspected, her ex is taking her to family court because things didn't go 100% his way. The male mediator felt the need to offer to escort Sis to her car in case her ex tried to cause trouble; she took him up on his offer.
We're hoping that since mediation didn't go his way that family court won't go his way either. We're also hoping Sis'll realize that she needs a lawyer who specializes in family law (?), and that hiring one is not being disloyal to her current lawyer, who doesn't specialize in it and hasn't really been that big a help. (He's not bad lawyer, he's just out of his area of expertise.)
The court summons just came. Since Sis is a teach, she has very little free time to consult with her lawyer. Plus her ex is probably going to drag Mom's cancer into this because she's the chief babysitter for the kids after school. Now both Mom and Sis need a lot of prayers. My oldest nephew started at a new school and even made a new friend! Hopefully, his father will see this and not take Sis to court over his education.
Thank you for your prayers, everyone. I have have an update on Mom at least. Her cancer is Stage 3; not as hopeful as I'd hoped it would be, but not hopeless. She starts chemo and radiation on Monday. I checked ACS's site, and that's standard operating procedure before surgery (pun not intended). Since the before and after surgery chemo/radio could last many months, we're all going to needs big time prayers. Mom for obvious reasons, and the rest of us because we will need to be her physical strength, and a few of us aren't in the best of health ourselves.
Thank you.
