You're a cold, cold, kitty cat. No one is safe.

Hmm. Maybe I should change my avatar? That could be fun.

    Hi, Gail.

I've become a part time lurker. Though I did venture into the serious realms of AW, and made four whole posts. I'm a regular chatty Kathy today.

*taps foot* Still waiting for AC's answer.

Tarantula hawks!!! Yep, I remember reading that somewhere. Sorry Spider Floozie. Is that right? They paralyze the tarantula then lay their eggs on 'em.

My intelligent offer of conversation for the day.

Yep. There are a variety of parasitizng flies and wasps that lay their eggs in other living creatures.

I no longer have the link, but once a friend from the tarantula hobby found his prized Aphonopelma dead with a big larva coming out of it. He resisted the urge to smash the slimy little killer, and instead took full documentation until it pupated and reached adulthood. It turned out to be some type of fly.

Oy! My memory is going, it wasn't an Aphonopelma species, it was a Pink Zebra Beauty.

    Poor, poor, spidey.

Yes, that's the common name for Eupalaestrus campestratus

Only people with a proper import license can do that, unless the species is protected by CITES. This species is from South America (and it still requires proper license and permit to import). The owner is a big supporter of captive breeding, trying to reduce the need for wild caught.

Fishy (Truman) is in his new bowl. He seems pretty stoked to still have the same castle. New plant, tho.

Those pics are grrrrrrrrross! Poor little spider.

I have recently become nicer to the spiders that infiltrate my bathroom (the only room in the house that I find them in). I say, little spider, you can stay there but do not move. (then once it moves) you can stay there, but if you dont stay there I will hurt you (then it moves) those spiders do not know how to behave.

I didn't look back in the thread. I know what gets posted when Wicked is out and about.

You're not a very good spider trainer, are you?

    No, not at all

But! I had the most amazing idea, (I have yet to see how amazing) I had meat and an egg, and some cheezits, and thought to make a meatloaf with a cheezits base. Delicious idea? Or gross? Time has yet to tell.
