9.2K. I didn't do as well as I'd have liked -- I kept getting stuck and distracted. But I did write this:

What the fuck? I fucking hate the dick, for fuck’s sake. Seriously! The fuck?

Tally - Oh, I thought you started querying last year for some reason. But good tactic on waiting. :)

Writing is good. I'm going to pull an allnighter if I have to - I'm that determined to hit 10K tonight.

But you come from a completely different culture.

This is going to sound spoiled and entitled and I'm so sorry, because I really don't want to offend anyone, but the only way I can even try to help you guys understand is to explain my culture.

When you grow up in a society and family and world in which money has never been and will never be an issue, you're raised with much different values. Not just because you have money, but everyone in your life has money. If I truly couldn't live with moving down here, I could have lived with any number of friends. It probably sounds terrible to others, but it's the world I'm from. It's the Upper East Side of Montreal.

Yikes. Okay.

Uh...

This is totally out of place, but which do you like more as an insult to refer to people without superpowers: Sline or Zip?

Sline as "Baseline" or Zip as in "Ziphead"

Ditching the outline for now. Plots are just not coming to me today. So I'm joining the people who are writing! :)

Zip! They're nothing. Nobody. They're just zips.

Did anyone ever do anything really stupid that pissed you off?

Watching Tom and Jerry videos on YouTube. I think I might flick between the two (them and writing) until I get an epically good idea for this or the next scene and/or I hit 10K. I'm getting a bit stressed. :(

I liked my part-time jobs. I was lucky my bosses were nice, and the customers were mostly reasonable and nothing overly traumatising ever happened. I don't have any horror stories to tell - though I do have some funny ones. :)

I worked in a used bookstore when I was in high school. Dunno if that's a "shop" or not.

It is.

I have a feeling I'm going to be writing for most of the night, haha.

It's kind of a shop, Margo. You're selling stuff, right?

I'd love to work in a bookstore, used or not. I also love used bookstores. They're invaluable when it comes to tracking down backlists.

I have some horror stories from my jobs.

Working at the rectory

Held up by a homeless person..
Having to deal with the most condescending people on the place of the earth
Dealing with people so stupid you wonder how the made it through school.

Then i worked for an afterschool program

I was put down my a 7 year old little brat
Ended up teaching a group of 5 year olds how to play poker
Was smacked in the head with a book by a kid off his meds

Now i work in my school business office

And i have to put up with a woman who doesnt even know how to copy and paste on a computer
Has to do all of this said womans work because she is lazy

Working in it was awesome because it was very laid-back and I could read whenever we didn't have customers. Most of the customers were just fine, but there was one woman who gave me a list of about 40 books and expected me to comb through our entire inventory to find out if we had them. False. I found one or two and just said we didn't have the others.

I know the feeling, Lisa.

I was maybe 1.5K away from that 17K written in 24 hours and I had 2 hours left and I was like... GAH I can't write anymore. My hands are cramped and I'm just so damn tired. Then I ended up pushing through and reaching that 17K (and even wrote I think 100 extra!) haha. I also had exactly 30 minutes to spare until my end time lol.

ETA: Wow, I had to edit out another "I was like" I wrote here. Geez. I'm not a bubbly teen anymore. Why do I still say "like" all the time? "I was like..." "(I/he/she/we/etc.) like (verb)..." "Like (I/he/she/we/etc.) (verb)..." I annoy myself with that lmao.
