Teens Writing for Teens, the 5th

I'm sick. It sucks being sick at college. And I'm doing NaNo.

It really does HR. I had food poisioning last week. (My boyfriend didnt cook our eggs enough and we both got salminalla) I'm just getting over it now. My advice is to just go home if you can. Teachers your first year are pretty flexable and understanding when you tell them your sick. Senior year you tell them your sick and they usually say "So?" but your first year its fine.

Yeah i'm only doing NaNo when i can. I got this awesome story idea from a dream so i'm going to work on that when i can. I'm probably not going to win, but oh well, i'm only doing NaNo to build up a longing need to write The House.

I'm doing NaNo. My story is going so slow. I had to practically force out the 1.7k for yesterday.

My first day was slow, 'cause my MC is completely amnesic and essentially high from having her memories forcibly taken from her and isn't really able to focus on anything. BUT NEXT SEGMENT STUFF HAPPENS IN.

I'm following my own order for word count, depending on scenes.

Wait your character has Amneisa?

Yep. Well, not scientific amnesia. When her family was massacred, she magically removed her memories and spread them to countless different villages so no one could ever find her.

I should get started on my homework. Ew. I have the eye doctor in a few hours, and I have to get my eyes rechecked- meaning their going to use that machine that blows air into your eyes. I hate that thing so much. It's horrible. On the bright side, I think I get to get new glasses.

My characters have scientific amnesia... well sort of. Technically there not in the real world when they have it so i guess you cant call it scientific then, although I'm following all the real symptoms and complications that go along with real amnesia.

Yeah. There are specific laws of the type of amnesia I've made up, because everyone knows the laws of magic have to be as clearly defined, if not more so, than the laws of physics, or else the reader can't suspend their disbelief.

Oh ok, yeah i dont ever touch magic. Not with a 10 foot pole. This book itself is totally out of my element leaning more on the fantasy then anything else, but still not going to go near magic.

Home is a nine-hour drive away so it's not really possible otherwise I would.

I really wanted my NaNo this year to have magic, but I didn't come up with a plot fast enough. So I'm doing a YA romance instead.

Yeah mine is a mixture of Fantasy, suspense, Thriller, crime, and romance.

Wow i'm on a roll, i'm already 1675 words in!

Mine's an MG Fantasy/Adventure.

Cool. I dont actually know what mine would be so I'm just calling it an Urban fantasy. 2/3rds of the book takes place in Nesia 1/3 takes place in the real world

I should probably outline, but at this point in time i'm just winging it. I have a fair sense of where the story is going to I'm just going to let it flow.

My state of living is actually very questionable right now, ha. By which I mean I'm developing a horribly timed cold because I have a freaking con this weekend.

But in terms of if I am breathing, then YES I AM ALIVE.

ETA: I don't really feel this novel needs a full outline, I'm kinda just doing it out of habit.

Sadly I'm following my bookcover as an outline, it is a map after all! hehehe.

Whatever works I guess, lol.
