Oh, is that what that is?

I once (and by once, I mean right now) had an idea about a German girl who dresses as a boy and becomes a pilot during WWI, but gets shot down...but before she crashes, she gets transported (John Carter style) to an alien world and there are flying ships and sword fights and she shoots down dragons with her biplane because that'd be AWESOME.

We do not have enough planetary romance novels anymore. They combine my favorite things of exotic locals, epic adventures, and a lack of clothes.

Have you read Lois Bujold's SHARDS OF HONOUR? It's a SF romance featuring a female military survey officer who meets an enemy commander on an alien planet. It is absolutely awesome in every way.
