Plotting my Sherlockettes novel!

It's only like Chapter 3 and Veronika is already doping... And Sophie's doing CPR. Good times!

ETA: I write an outline.

I'm sort of getting into plotting. Index cards make it fun. :3

I usually write chapter outlines.

I'm on my iPad now, which is fun because I type faster on an iPad!

I'm not sure about chapters in index card plotting yet.

I'm going to buy some white index cards and I might use them for possible chapter titles, in and out of the outline.

I usually do both. It only takes me a couple of days to do my plots, cause I leave a lot of room for when I'm writing.

All I know is, I want my chapters to be around 5K, so the titles may change from what they are in the plotting stage.

I plot by scene. I'm just going to add chapter titles in as I come up with them, unless the right cards are already on the wall, then they'll be seperate.

A lot of room?

Some cards will be detailed. Others not so much. It depends what's in my head as I'm creating the outline.

The ones for the first 10K from the previous version will probably be detailed, methinks.

Lisa it seems like you put way way to much though into how to and what to outline, just write.

Yeah, Lisa, I LOVE plotting and Worldbuilding, but I KNOW I can't spend too much time or put too much effort into that. BECAUSE the more time I spend plotting the harder it becomes to write freely. When I'm really passionate about a project I plot as fast as I can so I can get straight into writing before the excitement burns out. I need to write off the SNI high.

Plotting is tedious and boring to me, writing is the excitement.

A big one. :) I have my crit partner, who reads everything as I write it, my other crit partner who goes through revisions with me, a bunch of beta readers, and dozens of other writer friends.

Tally: I know what you mean about the SNI high. I'm trying to get that with Underdogs again, but I think I'll have a different high with it.

How did you find these people?

After another thread i started i realized i need a bigger circle and by bigger i mean i need enough people to even make a circle.

Also: FREELY WRITING: I totes agree with this. I'm going to put the scenes I want in the outline, but the power of index cards and blu tack is that if things change or I come up with something while writing, I can add and remove as I please.

With time, mainly. There are some online writing groups I've belonged to for 10+ years. I've belonged to probably dozens of writing groups, beta read tons of novels, posted hundreds if not thousands of critiques. So I get a lot of people returning the favour. I also have a reciprocal relationship with my crit partners - I read whatever they send me and they do the same for me. That's it in a nutshell. I get back what I put in.
