A bit more context for the link-adverse: "In its financial results released this morning, the independent [publisher] said e-book sales increased 16-fold last year and now account for 3% of Quercus' total sales of £31.8m. C.e.o. Mark Smith told The Bookseller half of that figure, almost £500,000, was made in the last quarter of 2010. He added Quercus had almost had the same value of digital sales in its first quarter as it had for the whole of 2010."

Interesting...but does 3% mean anything in the bigger picture?

I still think its going to take several more years before we know for sure any steady numbers and not just report an occasional bump in the numbers...

Knowing how much some of the bigger publishers have invested in e-publishing over the last few years I'm surprised that e-books don't take a larger cut of their income.
