Heartbreaking rejection from WotF.
Hmm, well this is interesting. Got an R from Untied Shoelaces, which was supposedly rejected on the Oct. 5th, but I'm just getting this email NOW. Also, I find it a little odd that they said it was a form rejection, yet they made a personal comment pertaining to the story (they don't like characters dying at the end).
I think being a non-winning finalist there is a heartbreaking thing.
Have you got a good place to send that story now?
I've gotten a few R's from things I subbed a while back, but... but...
My hard drive on my laptop started to fry and I lost the latest version of my W1S1 excel spreadsheet. I am devastated, y'all. I loved my spreadsheet.
So I haven't even bothered to catalogue those recent R's, because now everything is ruined because I don't have my spreadsheet!
Yeah. I just turned into a bit of a diva there.
Why's that? I hardly ever submit to anthologies, but it's because I never have anything that's a good fit written already. I always want to...Had a handful of Rs lately from anthologies I really wanted to be in. I've got to learn to resist the siren call of a good anthology theme and get back to magazine/journal submissions.
Thank you for sending us "Sex Education". We really enjoyed this piece, but we didn't feel it was right for Barnstorm.
We hope that you will continue to send us your work.
Sincerely,
The Editors of Barnstorm
but my last sub to them earned me a wonderful, personalized R asking me to send more. I feel like I've been bumped back down to form letters.
.
I'm going to let them hang on to it for the chance of being a published finalist. Not a good chance, but they already like it, so why not?
Thanks, Lillie! Why's that? I hardly ever submit to anthologies, but it's because I never have anything that's a good fit written already. I always want to...
