He was one of my favorite actors from the old Hammer films. There aren't many of those guys left. 
And of course, he was Alfred several of the Batman movies.

He was in one of my favorites, Horrors of the Black Museum. He often played flamboyantly sneering villains. But he also did everything from the voice of the Dodo in the Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland to winning a Tony for his part in Bedroom Farce.
