Hey JW, I like crime fiction but I don't have time to read a whole novel or anything super long right now. How long is your piece? This sub-forum is a good place to find readers of short fiction, but you might want to try the beta-readers sub-forum for anything longer.

Literary Piece, 2000 words, man stares out of window and weeps about a life he could have had... Not really. It's better than that I promise.

Sci-Fi/Weird Piece: 5000 words, driving instructor and pupil accidentally discover a secret motorway... where does it lead? But better than that too. Any takers?

5500-word fantasy set in Roman times. I've given it so many passes that the words have lost all meaning, even after letting it sit for a week. Starting to get the feeling something might be slightly "off" about it. Anyone willing to lend me their eyes? I'm only too happy to return the favour.

Hey guys. I'm looking for new eyes on a 4889 word short story. It's been though three betas so far, but I went through major revisions because of those comments. I wanted some fresh eyes on it.

Here's the blurby thing:

Clarence Huntington is the daughter of traitors. In a highly tiered society, she fits in on the bottom rung, a secretary in a government building. Life is complicated, but do-able.

Then a Government Dragon Mage is demoted to run the building's security after the loss of his dragon. If Clary was the normal scum of the earth progeny, she'd have enough issues. The highly illegal psychic connection she shares with a young dragon complicates things.
