I really need to write something so I can sub to the them. They seem really top notch. Maybe my next project will be more their style. I can hope.

Received a lovely, thoughtful rejection from Heather this weekend on my full. Not quite right for their line. I would most definitely submit to Entangled again with another project.

Onward...

They're making some great foreign sales for a new kid on the block. They just sold foreign rights to Random House Germany for one of their books in a 2 book deal.

I queried them the other day... With an old version of my query that didn't mention the romantic element. Since romance is their thing, I don't have high hopes for that query. It's probably not a good idea to send them an "Oops, I goofed!" email right? Lol

Oh well, it won't be my first R and probably not the last.

Got a personalized rejection the same day I sent the status query.

Hugs ((((((((((((((Ajkjd01))))))))

Sorry to hear this.
I've had a full with Heather for 6 weeks so I'm waiting for an answer soon. Good luck with your submissions.

Ah, last night, on twitter, Liz said she would go thru her submission inbox until she had answered them all.

I wonder if that means she will go thru fulls too. I hope it does.

Yesterday, my full completed 6 weeks on her hands ... I'm seriously anxious, but I really didn't want to nudge her ... I might wait 2 more weeks (if I can handle myself till then lol).

Well, let's see ...

Wait...how is this publisher doing so well when it's so new? What did I miss?

Nudged and got a reject the next day.
I get the feeling they act fast when they want something. Just my impression from some of the success stories I've read from them.

Heather gave me great feedback and it confirms other beta impressions so I'm rewriting as an adult contemporary.

Good luck to everyone waiting and submitting.

I don't understand the logic behind this question. Are you saying that you think all new publishers need to do poorly? Surely those that start out poorly are nearly guaranteed to fail. Those that start out well can still go down the tubes, but at least have a chance of surviving and doing well for the long term.

Good new epublishers do tend to leave the gates strong and keep going, not dawdle around.

That said, I don't know what sales at Entangled are like.

7 weeks ...

Their website says "Please allow up to six weeks for a response to queries and requests."

I'll ask "what should I do?", you guys will say "nudge", but I'm so afraid that nudging will seem desperate (not that I am, uh!) and unprofessional.

I'm sitting on my hands not to send an email out ...

I thought the wait would get easier once you're in this business for a while, but omg it doesn't!

I'm just an observer, but it seems as if the six-week response time needs to be upped to 8 weeks or 3 months now that they are fully operational...

I'd wait.

anybody sub'd for the Steampunk Antho?

http://www.entangledpublishing.com/submission-information/steampunk-anthology/

Wish I had known about it sooner. Someone just tweeted me the info. Cut off date is Dec.1.
:stares at PR nanowrimo: Yeah, that's not going to happen. lol

No, but I sub'd for last month's superhereo anthology. Got a R&R for their novella line. **squee!** So I'm working on that now. They responded within days to my sub with very detailed suggestions for revisions. I've had a great experience so far!
