Semantically speaking, doesn't something "high" sound more appealing than something "low", and if "high" equates to having a positive value that can be interpreted as good and "low" equates to having a negative value which can be interpreted as bad, wouldn't it be acceptable to say something characterized as being "low" would not sound desirable?
