What's wrong with asking about a

pe·ri·od

noun \ˈpir-ē-əd\

a musical structure or melodic section usually composed of two or more contrasting or complementary phrases and ending with a cadence [Merriam-Webster Dictionary] ?

But aren't there some writers who don't know how to use a colon?

Why don't you stick your finger in a semi-colon and find out?

Is there some way to underscore the idiocy of these questions?

Can't you just use the underscore function to underscore "the idiocy of these questions"?
