It's medieval porn! But if you can get past that, it's a great story. If it wasn't, I wouldn't have been able to get past all of the sex parts. And there be dragons! Well, not many and they don't show them much, but they are still there. And all kinds of cool stuff. :) I wish I had the books.

*hands NF another round of Baileys*

I need to check it out. I remember Jed recommending the books.

One day I'll get to it. :)

Thanks for the round, L.Y. :)

Well I'm off to write something and then to bed. Another early start tomorrow and I haven't had much sleep, not unusual mind you, but I didn't really get to catch up on my days off. :/ :e2thud:

g'night L.Y. it's been a pleasure drinking/chatting with you. :)

This is my first time posting. Consider this a test. Testing, 1, 2, 3, testing. I just wrote and submitted my first, and probably last, erotic horror short to a zine. My best friend is some where in this place, but I don't know his screen name. He told me AW was awesome. I am currently reading Life of Pi and I am working my way through Flannery O'Connor's short story collection. I look forward to getting to know everybody. Have a beautiful day, its back to the grindstone for me.

Yes. I must have looked that over a dozen times. How did I still make a typo?
It's a lot easier spotting typos in someone else's work than my own, so it's easy enough to do.

Hi condit and welcome to The Pub and AW. Pull up a chair, order a drink and relax. We have REM's night swimming playing on the radio at the moment.

Oh, and listen to the wise regdog. What she said below is very good advice. There are lots of members who are waiting to welcome you properly.

I see you reg. :e2steer:

I just finished Life of Pi. I loved it. :D It made me want to be trapped on a boat with a tiger. Oh these tricky and desirable things...

Anyway, welcome! :welcome: The pub is a nice place to hang. I'm one of the newer additions, but I quite like it here. It's cozy. And warm...but that's probably the beer's fault.

Hey Jed, guess what happened to me today.

Aliens took you to a planet with giant hamsters?

The giant hamsters WERE the aliens!

Also, while I was bored on the flight through space I was browsing Deviant Art. I found this really cool steampunk artist and was checking out his gallery full of dragons and fantasy ships and stuff and then I saw YOU in the gallery! Well, the picture that you're using for an avatar- which has brainwashed me into thinking you're a gigantic, metal dragon behind a keyboard with Baileys in hand. It's really quite the mental image.

I am. ;)

Although sometimes I put the baileys down and pick up the cookies.

My current avatar was a gift from Medievilist. A few years ago, we did a steampunk theme for April fools and she got me this to replace my other dragon avatar. And I liked it so much I kept it.

Thank you, Lisa.

You mean Jed isn't a giant space hamster? ...I am shocked. ;) Since as everyone knows, giant space hamsters love cookies and Baileys... and are VERY good procrastinators.

...Wait. Maybe I am a giant space hamster...

No. That can't be possible. Because I am going to stop procrastinating right now and go get some researching done for school. :D

(Doing schoolwork with a bad case of bronchitis that won't go away is... not my cup of tea. Or mug of Baileys, either way. I just want to sleep, damnit... :( )

This is why I don't date online. Because half the available partners fit this description, and the last thing I want is to start a relationship with a furry. The cats leaving hair on my laundry is bad enough. Could you imagine what it would be like dating a space hamster?

Well, Jed- whatever you are behind that elusive keyboard of yours- that avatar is badass and I wouldn't mind dressing up as it for halloween. Which I am considering. Assuming I can get enough metal. And flamethrowers. And Baileys.

No. That can't be possible. Because I am going to stop procrastinating right now and go get some researching done for school. :D

I don't believe you. :p

Blinkk - good point about dating online. :D I managed to snag a good one, though, although that was several years ago now (my husband and I first met online in 2004, got engaged in 2006 after meeting up IRL twice [for about a week each time], and got married in 2008 - after he moved out to where I lived, in 2007)... space hamsters using the Intarwebz was not quite as common as it is now. :D

I did do some research!! I now have three references all typed up nice and pretty, in APA style, instead of just one URL sitting on the page. ;) Just... didn't do much. :( I don't feel good so I procrastinate. I'm even drinking caffeine like I'm not supposed to (heart problems/anxiety) but it's not really helping. All I want to do is journal and sleep and eat Baileys ice cream.

*goes to the freezer to dig out her Sooper Sekrit stash*

:) If it worked out for you, that's great. I think in today's world online dating is just about equal to, uhhh, not online dating. xD :LilLove: It doesn't matter where you find it, as long as it's LOOOOVEEEE *starry eyed*

Goodness, you're a rare one. I saw the "logged on" green icon below your name and thought, Nah, it's impossible to get work done if you're logged onto Water Cooler. HOW WRONG I HAVE BEEEEEEEEEN! You deserve that sekrit stash. :hooray:

Opine on the semantics, please. Does a nearly two year long hiatus make me a newbie again?

*sits next to Jed all comfy and stuff and steals his cookies while he's not looking*

So...*crunch crunch* lots of new folks around. :welcome:

I'm having a glass of red wine (and cookies) and then I'm going to log off and spend the evening reading. :)

Hang on a minute. I swear I had some cookies here a moment ago. What the heck happened to them? Do we have ghosts again?

Someone's nabbing my cookies. I'll find out. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday. And then there will be war. Cookie war. :guns:

I very VERY VERY much doubt your cookies were stolen. Maybe borrowed. Yes, I'm sure that's all it was. Someone borrowed your cookies and they'll be returned to you at once. *nods*
