I can't stand seeing a sparkly uni-pony cry...

*goes to sekrit stash and pulls out more Baileys and a cookie and hands them over to Sara*

lesson learned--never take Baileys from a sparkly uni-pony...

ETA: sees Honeybug has entered the pub...

*goes back to sekrit stash for more Baileys and another cookie*

Here ya go Honeybug, good to have you back. :)

I prefer powdered sugar, thanks. :)

Waking up to another beautiful day here in Michigan. I wish I could capture it and bring it back out in January!

Well, my client's emails are calling to me, but I'll be sporadically checking in throughout the day. Ciao!

Mmmmm. French toast. Thanks Honey :)

And you can pass that coffee IV over (please and thanks!) when you guys are done with it. Today I need to get my butt and fingers in gear.

What happened to Coffee through Coffee III? Is this a trick?

And Jean Michelle Jarre has a lot to answer for...

I think we did Coffee through Coffee III in the previous version of the Pub.

And what does Jean Michel Jarre have to do with it? :Wha:

*sigh* Still too early for the complex jokes, huh? (He did Oxygen, Oxygen II, Oxygen III et al; I'm being too clever for my own good again)

It's days like this which sorely test my resolve not to put YouTube links into every post I make...

:e2smack: I think we need Coffee 101 to get through this day.

*sets up coffee IV station next to the bar.*

I also have extra large tubes for when the espresso shakes start. :D

Our legal system works differently - don't ask me for details because I don't know - but common folks don't do jury duty here.

Honestly, other than that I had to get up at the asscrack of dawn and make special arrangements for my kids for the day, I don't mind it that much. (And there's always that "hey, now I can write more believable trial scenes" thing.) What does really get to me, esp. with my 142-day-old headache, is that they sit you in a room with your fellow potential jurors for hours on end while they figure out if there's going to be a trial or not (lots of last-minute finagling and negotiations between lawyers, apparently) and because we can't be trusted to entertain ourselves sufficiently while they do this, they set up a big TV on a cart in the room with VERY LOUD morning talk shows on. Ugh! No escape.

And the seats are wicked uncomfortable.

I did get halfway through Cryoburn, though.

Suzanne, you nailed the description of the jury selection process! I was called once for a murder/drug trial and there were 200 people waiting around to find out if they had to serve for a potentially year long trial. It was interesting to observe how some people got out of it. Fortunately, enough people agreed to serve before they got to my name. Even though I had two babies under 3 at the time, that wouldn't have been a good enough reason to be excused.

Hope the Baileys took the edge off that headache!

Sigh. I need to not step out of the pub when I'm in this mood; it only ever gets me in trouble.
