I have turned in all my library books, and I can have four - count 'em FOUR delicious new books to read... I'm looking for, oh, say, books from the last 10 years.

What urban fantasy is at the top of your recomendation list? - But please note that I have read most of the Dresden books, Stacia Kane's and Kelly Meding's already... so I'm lookin' for some other authors.

You've read some good ones! I'd also recommend Tempest Rising by Nicole Peeler, The Mage in Black by Jaye Wells, Mind Games by Carolyn Crane, something by Anton Strout...

Emma Bull's War for the Oaks if you haven't read it. Pamela Dean's Tam Lin. (I know these are old, but amazing).

Elizabeth Bear Blood and Iron and Whiskey and Water.

Seanan McGuire's October Daye series, starting with Rosemary and Rue. Her MC is a half-fae knight who works at a Safeway in San Francisco.

Ooh! Mine! Read mine!

/end shameless self promotion

I might also suggest Simon R. Green's Nightside series (UF with a British flavor) and Rob Thurman's Cal Leandros series.

Eleven posts and no one's mentioned Ilona Andrews's "Kate Daniels" series? ;)

If you want shifters, but not werewolves, check out Rachel Vincent's Shifters series (it's complete now).

I love a promotion whore... and Tamsin, I'm going to buy yours next month. *fistbump*

Not sure if this was directed at me, but yeah. Good stuff. She's a good blogger, too.

Yes, totally directed at you! Thanks! :)

For shame on them. *fistbump*

If you haven't tried Karen Marie Moning's Fever books yet - they're worth the read. She also has some other related series you might want to try.

Can I jump on the self promotion bandwagon? ;)

You can download HUNTED BY THE OTHERS for free from Amazon. That promotion was supposed to be off two days ago, but it's still up, so... eh. Also, my second book, TAKEN BY THE OTHERS, just released today!:hooray:

As for other recommendations, have you read Karen Marie Moning's Fever series? Talk about fabulous UF... *fans self*

Also second Charlaine Harris, Patricia Briggs, etc. If you like raunchy and politically incorrect humor, you can't go wrong with Mark Henry. *g*

Holly Black's YA fae series is good if you haven't read it yet. Valiant was my favorite.

Some great recommendations there. I would also like to recommend Jeri Smith-Ready's WVMP series.

Also, I have found so many great UF books from a blog called 'The Alpha Reader'. The reviewer is an Aussie woman who mainly reviews UF, Bodice Ripping Romance and YA. I usually skip past the YA and romance reviews but she hasn't failed me yet for UF recommendations.

No one mentioned Kim Harrison's Hollows series? For shame! Also the others listed in this thread are awesome. There are a few I haven't read that I'll have to pick up. Great list!
