If anyone's interested, I recently compiled many of the links and websites which I've collected and bookmarked over the years of pursuing publication. Everything from outlining a novel idea to revising a story to worldbuilding in sci-fi/fantasy settings, as well as writing query letters, formatting manuscripts and getting an agent. These links have been sorted out and are all available through the Fiction Writer's Virtual Toolbox on my site.

These links are ones I feel can be helpful to writers at any stage in their career, whether just starting out with some basic questions, or looking ten years down the road. I hope people find some good resources through this. Thanks!

Oh, and if you have any suggestions on other tools that could be added to the mix, please let me know.

VERY nice, JR!!!

Since some of the links are dying, I'd like to link an old favorite that can be so helpful. I find the words used as color (like snow) gives me an idea for a cool simile or metaphor or whatever it is I'm trying to come up with. Sometimes I use it as a random word generator when I'm trying to think of what should go somewhere. "Hmm, this scene is orange, for some reason. Let's see what orange can suggest." It helps me.

I've actually bookmarked your page for future reference.

I'm in need of a couple of things, and, you're like my "wish list" LOL. The timing of finding this post has been perfect.

Thanks

Excellent list of links, I've bookmarked it!

One additional recommendation that people might find helpful is Jami Gold's worksheets for writers: https://jamigold.com/for-writers/worksheets-for-writers/ It has downloadable excel and scrivener documents for several major beat sheets (Save the Cat, Story Engineering, etc) as well as additional worksheets for things like scene and character arc development.

The OP hasn't been here in four years, so I'm going to button this one up.
