    Question [Display site] PatronQuo

    Has anyone heard of PatronQuo or had any experience with them?

    Link: PatronQuo {http://www.patronquo.com}

    I was skipping around on the web and found a reference to the site which looks a little different from the usual critique/display sites. They display short stories and were compared favorably with Createspace.

    Being compared favorably to CreateSpace isn't much of a recommendation.

    They list all-time earnings for short stories and novels.

    Their all-time best-selling novel's earnings compares to a single short-story sale to a reasonable market. Their second-best seller only brought in ten dollars. And their third-best brought in nothing at all.

    In short stories, not as good as that.

    Only thirteen authors, total, have made anything at all.

    Like other display sites, this site seems like a perfect way to avoid rejection by avoiding submission.

    Shucks. I thought so.

    I'm just looking for ways to increase name recognition of my "world" and publicize my free short stories. [I plan to post one a month.] Still, I need to find some places where people read. Like I said, I hate marketing.

    Four years later, the stats show fourteen (14) people have made any money at all; 33% of them the minimum of $5.
