As your hostess, with the mostess, :evil for the month of September, I thought we could do a challenge of sorts using the basics of some saying. Listed below are just a few I thought of, feel free to come up with others.

Famous sayings:

The grass is always greener on the other side.

A penny saved is a penny earned.

Don't count your chickens before they're hatched.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

Always a day late and a dollar short.

You get the drift. Something with a moral value. (Never thought of the horror stories as having morals.) I think it would be fun in the horror section. Make the saying your title and go from there, that way we will know what one you are doing. (Some, like me, are slow minded.) :poke:

Try to keep it in the 1000 words or lower count, then post it in the SYW horror section for the September prompt. Have fun and feel free to spread the read.:Sun:

A dark, evil place.
Good prompts, Wendy. I wonder what I can do with "a penny earned is a drop in the bucket?"

What's this here...

a new prompt you say? I almost missed it.

I was trying not to get sidetracked by short stories this month, but damn if I didn't get an idea and start working on it already. I just have to get my saying to be "moral". I missed that component to the directions the first time around.

Um... Yeah... I'm drowning in unfinishedness already... 2 big wips, 1 shorter big wip, a long short wip/short big wip, and 2? 3? shorts in need of editing.

I'm gonna have to pass this one up for now.

*scrambles for life raft, misses, grabs for floaties, misses, settles for the fin of a passing shark.*

Oh boy...

lost among the words
I so adore Cows with Guns. It's a work of genius--both on the part of the songwriter and the graphic video artist (who won an award for it, IIRC).

I just wish that I could actually write a short story. This prompt sounds like lots of fun.
