Do you know any really good songs about murder?
What do you mean with a good song? Countless Metal bands nearly sing about nothing else ;):evil

"Slayer - Reign in blood" (Piece by piece, criminally insane)
"Slayer - Hell awaits" (Kill again)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UkA9FoNzxg

"Exodus - Bounded by blood" (whole album)
Here some bands: "Six feet under, Cannibal Corpse, Razor (Edge of the razor etc.), Kreator, Demolition Hammer, Sodom, Vio-Lence (the name says it all..) and many more. Just look on youtube, if you need some "murder-inspiration" :Guitar:

Oh, and let us not forget ""Psycho" by Texan Leon Payne, who was inspired by Charles Whitman's shooting spree ("You think I'm psycho, don't you mama...")

It's been covered numerous times. My favorite is Richard Thompson's son Teddy on the soundtrack for the remake of "Psycho" they did a few years ago.

Oh, and of course, the controversial "Killing an Arab" by The Cure.

Tom Waits has several. Of the top of my head, there's

"Murder in the Red Barn" (an okay song) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJvdl7z0j88

"Gun Street Girl" (excellent song) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bz28AD7qYe8&feature=related

"Cold, Cold Ground" (excellent song, more about death in general) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Urkki2FIymU&feature=related

*swoon* I adore Tom Waits. I liked the first link very much. I actually prefer the instrumental version of that song - Tom's vocals are a little rough, even for me. It's based on the infamous 1827 Red Barn Murder case. I heard the story of Maria Marten at my mother's knee, as a warning about what happens to silly girls who elope with dangerous men.

Gun Street Girl is outstanding, but I don't think I can count Cold, Cold Ground (great song) as a murder ballad for the reason you gave.

"Murder ballads are a sub-genre of the traditional ballad form, the lyrics of which form a narrative describing the events of a murder, often including the lead-up and/or aftermath."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_ballad

I'm open to all types of music, but the problem with the link you provided is that I couldn't understand a word. I think I caught "kill, kill, kill" at one point, but if I can't understand it - where's the narrative? What it lacked in the lyrical department, though, it made up for in sheer aggression.

Thanks for contributing to the thread.

Ooh! Forgot another one.

"Whenever Kindness Fails" by Robert Earl Keen.

As in, "I only use my gun whenever kindness fails."The song details several times he loses his temper after being nice to people and their snarky replies to him.
