Well I've been lurking around a bit, decided I really like the forum, and would like to stay, if I may.

Name's Jen.

I haven't published anything (beyond one story in a magazine in my teens), but I've always had itchy fingers; - only, life happened, things like a tertiary education, jobs, husband, 2 kids...

..but I've finally realized that "the right time" will never come - there will never be a "perfect" time, so might as well get on with those itchy fingers and so here I am.

Be gentle please...

Oh, and I like my popcorn roasted in a touch of sunflower and olive oil, lightly salted, thanks...

...and yes, I have already detected all the goodies on the forum usually pointed out in the generic "welcome" posts...

Did I mentionion that I'm a mischievous so-and-so with a cheeky streak?
Ah - did I forget to mention that my genre is..- well, it's difficult to pin down, actually, since I read SF, fantasy, horror, mainstream and classic lit... though I feel drawn to paths that lead off the beaten track .

My main scribblings so far have been what I'd describe as dark fiction and dark fantasy - fiction with just a bit of a horror flavored twist.
Sadly I've not progressed beyond short stories yet (and flawed, unfinished ones at that.... )

Thanks Sassy. But writing tends to kick back, doesn't it? ^_^ ...and then you decide you'd rather do with a bit less sleep every day, than to resist the urge any longer...
