My name is Chimere McKether and I love to write. In spite of my mistakes I make in writing, writing gives me liberation. I feel like I can soar when I put my thoughts onto paper. I know most of you feel what I'm saying. I want to be the best and strive to be the best. I'm looking for a buddy who will help me with my work. Someone who has excellent skills in constructive critiquing, meaning, they see the potential in my work and help me identify my weaknesses by showing me an example. I'm an auditory learner as well as a visual learner. I feel I really learn best when I see what the problem is and how I can correct the mistake. I don't like a person telling me and not showing me. I don't think it will help any writer in their writing, to be honest. In the same respect, I will help anyone who needs revision, constructive critiquing in their work and even editing a paragraph or two when it doesn't fit the story and most of all make them feel comfortable in their writing. I don't want to discourage anyone from their vision or else it wouldn't be their story. (it happened to me and I never thought I would bounce back from that hard fall in writing) I love to encourage others and inspire them to do what they do best and I hope I get the same in return.
I pretty much learned about revising and editing when I went to college with this book about editing and revising. (I hate I lost that book in the fire from my former home in another state.) I even read writing a romance novels for dummies, very insightful points and an excellent read for people who are into romance writing. I also have a grammar book that lets you takes test to brush up your skills. I like that the Kaplan Grammar book because even when you fail and you take the tests all over again; you can aim for a better score!
I will skim through that book again.
My weaknesses are mixing tenses( I really struggle in this part), having wordiness, sometimes being unclear in my sentences when they need further explanation.
