Awww, I wanna be something magical and cool. Let's see, dragons are taken as well as werewolves and unicorns. What's left? Nifflers?

We could be fairies. Or witches. I've often been called a witch before--at least I think that's what they were calling me.

Wonder Woman is magical and cool. :D Didn't she always say "Almighty Isis" or something like that? So, Egyptian goddess is always an option.

So I guess I don't have to keep hiding the little zombie bunny army that follows me around? Cool.

(C'mon, guys, you can come out now. They unnerstand us here.

Lionel, for heaven's sake, pick up that ear. You're shedding again. Tsk.)

Ferret, I'm sure it was witch. jtrylch, you could be a selkie. They're cool. Or a banshee, if you wanted scary. Or a piskie, for snarkiness....

Ooh! Cute, fluffy, undead bunnies! Nothing like a bunniepocolipse hopping and shedding all over the bouncy castle! :D

Yeah, they're sweet, but not exactly self-cleaning. Maybe what they need is a griffin to keep them vigilant about picking up their fallen parts.

My griffin would be glad to oblige, I'm sure! :D

Sorry...that was one of my cats standing on the keyboard. He's either saying good morning to everyone, or "Mom, get off your duff and feed me. Now." I'm not sure which. :)

Can I be one of the dust spirits from My Neighbor Totoro? Those are awesome!

This thread is starting to sound like a conversation with my son, "Mom, if you were a magical creature, what would you want to be?"

His favorite one to ask is, "Mom, if you had a super power, what would it be?"

For the record, I think I'd like to be Bastet, the cat-headed goddess, but nice. Cat heads are so cool and she has a rockin' body. As for super power, I'd really like to have magic, the Harry Potter kind. Then you can do a wide variety of amazing things!

Hells yeah, MsJudy. That rocks!
It is Sunday morning here. Yesterday I had an awesome time at the writers festival event about YA, where I had a bit of an epiphany about why my MG WIP is driving me crazy. Today I am going to a theatre writing workshop with my favourite local surrealist playwright. So all in all, a good weekend.

Hi kidlit gang! After months away, I'm back. I have a re-write to get done on my MS, but with summer guests, travel, and my henna business, I didn't have the mind-space and time to give it my attention. Now I'm dying to get back to work and get back on here for some writerly encouragement.

Clare - Good to have you back, after so long away!

Smish - Your new avi is appropriate and hilarious! Glad you had a good weekend.

Very foggy here today, like my brain. A cup of coffee is needed.

somewhere, out there
Just had the weekend from hell, and of course it had to be extra long.

Granddaughter was infested with head lice and she shared them with Grandmommy. Never, in my entire life, have I dealt with something so utterly disgusting!

What totally wads my panties in a knot is that this morning, when my daughter told the daycare provider (who is licensed by the state) that she had them, she was told that the daycare always had a problem with them right after school starts up, and she had treated the older kids for them, but hadn't bothered to inform my daughter that they were present.

I went livid. First, when do daycare providers treat for headlice? And second, hello? If the school kids have them, doesn't it make sense that all of the kids might possibly need to be checked?

People are unbelievable. It makes me want to say words that I don't say.

(Can't stop scratching!)
