Thanks Kitty and Butterbean. I appreciate the encouragement and the opinions. I'll post my chapter tonight before I go to bed before I lose the courage. Besides, I can't look at it over the weekend because I won't have Wi-Fi on a ski trip, so I won't agonize at the keyboard every five minutes.

Happy New Year! May this year be better than last year!

That is my sincere wish anyway, I hate to think it could get worse....

Welcome back Smish. :TheWave:

Erm, sorry about the little glitch in the Matrix that banned you forever. It so wasn't my fault, honest :D

It's okay, Jed. I know you're too sweet and gentle a dragon to do something as mean as banning me forever. :sarcasm

I hope everyone had a great New Year's (even you, dragon)! :D

Hallo bouncy friends! I taught my first ski lesson of the year. My student told me this joke, but then i didnt get it and he had to explain it to me and i feltt like a doofus. I feel like this is the kind of thing that's only funny to a kid, and even then it's dicey:

what state do crayons come from?
Colorado

That is very similar to my 5 year old's recent invention:

Which state should you live in if you make lots of mistakes writing?
PENCIL vania

Hey Kitty,

My toddler got his first ski lesson ever this weekend . . . from his daddy! It was so awesome. For 2 1/2, I think he did great, though most of the time Daddy had to push him around. A few times he even yelled, "Wooo-hooo!" while going down the bunny hill.

This randomly occurring problem is caused by browser cookie confusion -- the cookie that remembers the SYW password for you has somehow tied itself in a knot.

The usual way to fix this is:

  • Log Out of AW Water Cooler
  • Clear your browser's cookies
    • If using Internet Explorer, select Tools > Internet Options > Delete button (under Browsing history)
    • If using Firefox, select Tools > Clear Private Data
  • Close your browser - then restart it
  • Sign back into AW Water Cooler with your usual username/password
  • Go to Share Your Work and supply the vista password when prompted

Thanks Jed, you're the man! That worked thanks alot.

I brought my son when he was 3 and he just kept yelling, "Move over! Move over!" so he could barrel down the hill. When I didn't let him, he threw himself down on the snow in a temper tantrum. I decided to wait a year and take him back and it was much better then ;)

I'm enjoying all the "kid humor", Clare, Sissy, and Kitty! Guess I never outgrew it. Although I think if you make lots of mistakes you should live in Eraservania.

My 5-y.o. nephew's favorite joke is the one I taught him for Halloween:

What kind of mistakes do ghosts make?

Boo-boos.

And your jokes are cracking me up... because it takes me a moment to get them.

I had to read the penguin joke three or four times before it made sense!
