If I changed my name to : ) (with no space) would it show up as

for each of my posts? I think that'd be really cool to have on Christmas day and NYE.

Heh. Nope - it would show up as the characters. But I typically discourage non alpha-numeric characters in user names, for a variety of reasons.

You'll just have to make do with the smileys in your post text, I'm afraid.
