I cut about 62% of my original story. I'm about to start rewrites tonight.

Good luck with the rewrite, Eclipse.

I just finished Chapter 2. Yay!

My teaching semester starts tomorrow. Hope I can adjust quickly and keep on writing!

Way to stay the course, Andrea.

I'm now half done with Chapter 3. Lots of commuting time on the subway tomorrow, so maybe I can finish it.

I don't know if I'll post my progress up here, but you just made my day. I love your first rule. That is the biggest issue over at my end. I shall discipline myself! (Clenches fists, grits teeth and stamps foot, staring determinedly into the distance) I shall!

It's eerily quiet on this thread. But I'm halfway done with chapter 4, whether there's anyone around to hear it or not!

Great idea!

Current WIP is call "Lightbringer." At approximately 58,000 words. My goal is a rough draft of one chapter each week until I reach 30 chapters/ around 90,000 words.

I'm still here, Lizardmaker. Lurking, but still here. Just not posting, because I haven't written in over a week. I've spent way too many long nights and weekends at work. January is always busy for me. Hopefully, I can get back to writing this week.

I'm still here as well. I haven't written either. Decided to research some more to flesh out characters and worldbuilding.

Welcome, randi.lee. Sounds like you've got a great start and a do-able goal.

Hi, David and Eclipse. Glad I'm not alone in these parts.

I have a new WIP, a non-fiction book titled The Candy Store Generation. I finished planning it Friday, and pulled together some of my blog posts that serve as a core. I did my first real new writing on it yesterday. Just sitting down now to see if I can add some today. It sits as 3,400 words, on the way to somewhere around 40,000.

*knock knock* Newbie here! Can I come in?
First of all, thank you ,Monkey, for this amazing thread. I've been lurking around here without posting for two days and I decided to finally "show my face". Seeing so many people post about their progress has really helped me stop my everlasting habit of procrastinating.
I've reached 10k yesterday out of my 50k goal. Right now, my goal is to write at least an hour a day. So far I've managed to keep this goal for 4 days.*insert cheerleader waving pom poms*
That said, nice to meet you, everyone! :)

Welcome, andra!:e2cheer: There's your cheerleader.

I did get back to writing last night. We'll see how consistent I can be this time.

Hi everyone!

I haven't been here in a while. (god, maybe a year now? heh.)

I had to put my last project on hold but I'm back and starting it up again at 17,800 words. I'm hoping finish it at around 50,000 or 70,000.
I'm hoping to write at least 500 a day - maybe a thousand if it's a good day.
Well, looking forward to hanging with you guys again for a while!

Good luck everyone!

Hello Rubay, andra, and Norman!

Stared at my WIP for a while today, then put it away and wrote a short story instead.

Hi, guys! Thanks for the welcome! It's morning here and my goal for today stands: 1 hour of writing. Yesterday I wrote for two hours :D But I always, intentionally plan a smaller goal so I can surpass it and feel like a super- heroine afterwards :p

That's a sound psychological approach, I'd say! I, too, find that productivity is often a matter of tricking myself into getting things done.

Still here! I just got back from vacation in Cozumel. Still got some writing done in between diving and drinking and sitting on the beach, but I'm short a couple days. Blast!

Don't know if this is still going on but I'd love to take this challenge. I have one novel I decided to focus on exclusively and I need to make some headway with it. :)

managed only an hour yesterday and an hour today. It's odd. I'm only at 13k or so and already halfway through the main plot. god, I hate my tendency to underwrite things :(
