I remember back in the 1990s when it was considered a big story, the year the Aussies took it away downunder. I visited San Diego on a business trip, and spent a weekend hiking around in parks adjacent to the bay there, where I could watch the yachts running practice rounds. Very pleasant it was, with a bottle of wine and some sandwiches and sea-breezes and warmth and all, right horrorshow it was.
