No matter who the law is fair to, it's going to need to be a hell of a lot more complex than just "don't murder people."

For example, is drunk driving the same as attempted murder? Should it be punished as such?

If not, why else do they now prosecute drunk driving killers with "vehicular homicide?"

I'm, not sure what one has to do with the other. They are prosecuted with "vehicular homicide," which is a different term than "first degree murder." You're the one saying that it's all the same--one person causing another person to die. And that it should all be punished the same way.

I, on the other hand, do feel that vehicular homicide is different than first degree murder, and that drunk driving is different than assault and attempted murder.
