Hey peeps, just wondering if you could shed some light on this for me. I've read that most publications won't take something that has previously been published on the internet, whether on a blog or website. I'm curious how far this spreads when it comes to this site, and does that mean that anything posted in the poetry critique section is already published or because the threads are password protected, that doesn't count. I'm a bit nervous about putting some stuff up, only to find out later I can't submit it.

Anything that has a password protection is generally accepted as not published material. Usually I think of it this way, if you can see it when logged out, it is published. If you can google your poem and find it, it is published.

Since the poetry crit section is password protected and not viewable unless logged in, that section does not take your first publishing rights. Blogs/Websites are definitly considered published.
