There is a silver lining in this recession: the US divorce rate has dropped since 2005!
I guess nobody's thinking of the children any longer.

I haven't clicked the link yet, just read the headline.
Call me a pessimist, but many people stay in a marriage out of financial desperation. It would be NICE to think that such statistics indicate people are finally making better choices as to who they marry and finding happiness or contentment. But 2005 was the year that US bankruptcy laws changed, making bankruptcy much harder than it used to be.
I'll click now and see if the bankruptcy laws are indeed part of this article's assessment.
