What do you think of this as a business name?

Hi guys,

The big day is coming: after almost 10 years of freelancing I'm going to "quit my daily job" (which wasn't much worth mentioning to begin with) and register my own little business offering writing and translating services.

I've got this name for it that I came up with several years ago and I love it. But everybody says it's quite a mouthful. As I'm doing it with a couple of translator friends and we do literary translations as well as writing, I thought of Trans-Literary Club. TLC for short, which I think is cool .

Is it really a mouthful? Do you think people will struggle with it and I should pick something easier to read and say?

So what does "transliterary" mean"

Way too confusing and it is a mouthful.

Actually, I thought at first that I invented the word "transliterary" myself, but then I found it in the dictionary and discovered it was already copyrighted!

It has several meanings, one of which is synonymous to "cross-cultural" when applied to literature, and seeing as we were translators I thought it was just right. I'll have to change the "club" bit, too, you're absolutely right.

backslashbaby, alleycat, thank you so much! Actually, I didn't like the "club" bit, either, because it made me think of those nasty mail-order "book clubs" that make you buy an overpriced book from them every month. "Company" sounds like a very good option, thanks, alleycat!
