Okay, so my NaNo project involves an AI, a Spider Queen, a cop, some murders, and extensive hospital visits.

Would that make it a Supernatural Murder Mystery? Or maybe just Suspense? Horror? Okay, probably not horror - I can't write 'scary'.

SF/F ??

Please help.

Thriller. That way you can fit under crime fiction, mystery, suspense, supernatural, paranormal and SF.

Kinda early to worry about genre, no? But so far it's sounding like Sci-Fi to me. Depends on what a Spider Queen is :) and whether the cops/murders angle contains any speculative elements (e.g. Blade Runner).

I'll peg it as a SF/Thriller ;)

Thanks. And yes, it is kind of early for a genre, but I like to think about the future, such as what direction the book will ultimately take style-wise, and how to market it once it's been polished (and written, for that matter). :)
